Purmo entertains royalty at Poundbury

08.03.2005

Compact radiators from PURMO are being installed in new houses and flats at the Duchy of Cornwall’s Poundbury development at Dorchester. The radiators were specified by developers C G Fry & Son for their ability to meet the Duchy’s stringent criteria for efficient performance, as well as their compact, stylish design.

Poundbury is a high density, mixed use development that has already received international recognition for its innovations in urban design. Work is being carried out in phases, adding a further 2500 dwellings that will be fully integrated with the rest of Dorchester.

Dwellings at Poundbury range from flats to three-storey, five bedroom houses and PURMO’s Compact radiators are being used in sealed heating systems fired by condensing boilers. “We wanted a radiator that would be efficient, reliable and backed by a good reputation,” explains C G Fry’s Michael Dear. “The Compact fulfilled all of these requirements,” he added.

As well as providing an unobtrusive heating solution, Compact’s sleek design and modest dimensions enable very low water content, providing fast, controllable heating with high heat output. As a result, Poundbury residents will benefit from lower heating bills and enhanced comfort, while the overall environmental impact of the development is minimised through greater energy efficiency.

Guaranteed for five years, Compact radiators are available in over a 100 models to suit virtually any application and system design. All single and double panel models are supplied complete with factory fitted side panels and top grille as standard.
